Counselling & Psychotherapy
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Perhaps life feels difficult or uncertain, you are going through a significant change, or have experienced a bereavement. Maybe something from the past continues to affect how you feel or relate to others. You could be experiencing stress at work, struggling with relationships or simply need some space to reflect, connect with difficult feelings or develop your communication skills. No matter what brings you to therapy I aim to build a collaborative partnership so you feel supported whilst exploring difficult feelings and experiences.

Why start therapy?
"Neurological research shows that simply putting a feeling into words measurably calms the brain’s stress response" Daniel J Siegel. "If we do not transform our pain, we will most assuredly transmit it" Gwen Adshead. "The best political, social, and spiritual work we can do is to withdraw the projection of our own shadow onto others" Carl Jung. Irvin Yalom goes the whole hog, and says: "The therapist’s task is to help the patient face the ultimate concerns of existence: death, freedom, isolation, and meaninglessness".
From the journal
Occasional notes and reflections
Grief & Bereavement
There is no single way to grieve, we may move through disbelief, anger, sadness, relief, guilt, or we may feel numb and unable to feel much.
Anxiety & Panic
Anxiety may feel like a mind that won’t settle, a body that stays braced, or the exhausting effort of trying to keep everything under control.
